The Denon PMA-720 is the latest in a long line of affordable stereo amplifiers from Denon. With enhanced audio dynamics and high quality sound, the PMA720 should be on anyone’s short-list at this price-point.

Denon engineers have tapped their proven audio technology to create an integrated amplifier that is a step up in class from previous designs. A wide dynamic range allows connection to high quality audio sources and the PMA-720 will reproduce sound faithfully and accurately. Separate power supplies for analogue and digital circuits helps improve the audio quality, making the PMA-720 a great entry level stereo integrated amplifier.

High Current Design: At the heart of this Denon amp is a High Current Single-Push-Pull circuit for exceptional dynamics and detail. Denon’s acclaimed HC Single-Push-Pull Circuit has been inherited from its high-end models which, together with a fully discrete amplifier design, produces a powerful sound filled with beautiful musical details. The high current power supply ensures that the bass is always deep and sustained yet never overbearing. As you'd expect from a quality Denon product, the PMA-720 also features a vibration-resistant casing with Direct Mechanical Ground Construction.

European Sound-Tuned: Tuned in Europe for an audiophile standard sound quality, the PMA-720 is one of the best sounding amps at its price. To reach that goal the PMA720 features a number of selected components chosen especially for their audio performance as well as a vibration-resistant casing with Direct Mechanical Ground Construction. How does this help? The power transformer alone produces considerable vibration. A new 1.6 mm thick copper plate has therefore been added between the chassis bottom and the power transformer to suppress vibration from the power transformer and also prevent external vibrations from affecting the transformer. The positioning of the power transformer to a location near the insulating feet directs vibration as quickly as possible away from the chassis bottom to the feet, minimizing its effects on other

High-Speed, High-Capacity Power Supply: The PMA-720’s power circuit uses a block capacitor that Denon engineers have jointly developed with a parts manufacturer and a Schottky-barrier diode that features low internal resistance for low loss, short recovery time, and negligible rectifying noise. This highly stable electrical current supply further brings out the expressive power of sound produced by the HC Single-Push-Pull Circuit.

Lots Of Features: In terms of features, the PMA-720 has all the features you're likely to need from a stereo amplifier. The three line level inputs are complemented by a recording loop, making a total of five line level inputs. In addition to this, the Denon PMA-720 boasts an MM phono input for your turntable - a more unusual input these days. Two sets of speaker outputs allow you to have music in another room whilst the headphone socket is ideal for private listening. However, the big plus these days is the provision of a left and right preamplifier output. Now although you will probably never add a power amplifier to the '720, you could well add a subwoofer for a 2.1 system which will really rock on both music and movies. The amplifier includes a Source Direct function that allows the audio signal to bypass the Bass, Treble, Loudness, and Balance control circuits and maintain its purity for optimum sound transparency during playback. This Source Direct function works for all input sources. For improved convenience, the remote control unit that comes with the PMA-720 includes the main functions that control Denon CD players.

Every Detail Devoted to High-Quality Sound: The relay switch used for CD and Phono input contains an inert gas to prevent the occurrence of noise that can negatively affect the signal. In addition, highly reliable parts strictly selected for their contribution to sound quality, such as the large-capacity block capacitor for the power supply circuit, high-quality sound carbon resistors, and high-quality sound capacitors, are also used. Each individual part employed in configuring the circuits reflects this emphasis on high sound quality.
