Denon’s heritage extends back to the dawn of music reproduction. Founded in 1910, Denon was both the first record company in Japan and the first audio company in Japan.

Denon is one of the few companies that can trace its ancestry to both Columbia (CBS) and Deutsch Gramophone. It was the Deutsch Gramophone group that founded Denon’s parent company as Japan Gramophone, in 1910.
