Winner of the German Design Award 2013

The Loewe Individual TV line has been awarded the highest German design accolade, the German Design Award 2013. The prize has now been presented in Frankfurt at the opening of the "Ambiente" exhibition. The jury selected a total of 80 winners from 1,500 submissions. "The German Design Award 2013 is a great honour for Loewe and we now see it as our responsibility to continue our successful design strategy”, emphasised CEO of Loewe AG, Matthias Harsch.

The Loewe Individual is an impressive, unique product concept which combines discerning, individual design with innumerable options for accessing modern media entertainment content to provide premium class, future-proof home entertainment. Be it television programmes, online content, personal photos, videos or apps – the intuitive Loewe operating concept makes the navigation of desired content particularly simple and also enables practical tablet networking. The Loewe Individual was designed in collaboration with Phoenix Design.

The German Design Award is the international premium prize of the German Design Council. The German Design Council is an independent and internationally active institution that supports companies in efficiently communicating design expertise and also seeks to strengthen the broader general public’s understanding of design. Established as a foundation in 1953 by decree of the German Federal Parliament, the German Design Council champions good design through its competitions, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and publications. The circle of trustee-sponsors currently comprises more than 170 companies from both inside and outside of Germany, who together employ more than 1.6 million people.
